I’ve got two pieces of BIG NEWS.
1) Carbon Bros is coming July 25
What happens when two titans of the climate podcasting space collide? In just over two weeks, Carbon Bros, a collaboration between Non-Toxic and Drilled, will be making its long-awaited debut. Here’s the gist:
You’ve heard it from cable news pundits, Democratic strategists, and your favorite YouTuber: young men swung the last U.S. election for Trump. Understanding what’s driving “the manosphere” and how to reach the young men in its grips is on everyone’s mind right now, but we’re zooming in on a different corner of it: the intersection between male grievance culture and climate denial. Why are American men less likely than women to believe in climate change, or take personal or political actions against it? What does their reluctance to deal with the climate crisis have to do with men’s shift to the right in general? And what can be done to reverse it?
2) I’m moving the whole operation to Substack
If you're reading this, you're probably already a free Non-Toxic subscriber, so thanks for the support! You may also know that in addition to the newsletter, I also put out a podcast. (That’s sort of the main thing.) Substack has been a great way to spread news about the show and keep people up to date with what's coming down the pike.
But it's kind of confusing to have a Patreon, a Spotify, and a Substack. And Non-Toxic is growing (thanks to you guys) too quickly to keep doing things piecemeal.
Which is why I'm excited to announce that from now on, everything is going to be through Substack. There will be three simplified tiers for subscribers, with monthly, annual rates and founding rates. My vast and extremely dope back catalogue is going to be for real heads only, so if you’re new to the Non-Toxic universe, you’ll be able to enjoy those, too (for a small fee).
I'm going to be releasing more content, with a more regular schedule. I'm not going to flood your inbox, but it's going to be better, faster, stronger. And there will be special articles and perks only for paid subscribers. Hats, anyone?
So, if you're a Patreon patron, you're going to get a free month of the new and improved Substack starting now. I'm going to shut down the old Patreon by August 1. You may have already gotten a little note from me on Substack, and I will email all patrons with a reminder to sign up over on Substack before the end of the month.
Thanks for supporting this venture and sticking with me.
And in the meantime, if you want to support our efforts, smash that Subscribe button below.
